Open Door at Philipp Hoflehner

This is how he lives and spends his private time.
The project: A reinterpretation à la Bernd Gruber.

This traditional house was a real stroke of luck for Philipp Hoflehner, who found the perfect place for himself and his family. Nestled in a quiet, idyllic landscape, the house not only offers an ideal retreat from hectic everyday life, but also embodies the image of family life in harmony with nature.

Christina, Carla, Thaddeus, and Philipp's favorite spot. Sofa: B&B Italia.

The interior has been carefully redesigned to create more space and openness while conveying a distinctive personal touch that reflects the lifestyle and values of the entire family.

Probably the coziest spot in the living room, with a light gray sofa from B&B Italia, offers an unobstructed view of the idyllic garden and the adjacent forest edge—a perfect place to relax and enjoy.

Behind the sofa, travertine bookends in the shape of elegant giraffes lend the shelving unit a touch of vintage charm.

Intelligent design with vision

Traditional core meets modern design.

The result is a timeless design that skillfully combines light-colored walls, oak, and natural stone with carefully selected design classics, art, and unique accessories. Each element has been carefully chosen to balance aesthetics and functionality, creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and cozy.

An important aspect of the design was the family's desire to create an environment in which the children could grow up in close contact with nature. This is reflected in the choice of robust materials, natural color palettes, and high-performance fabrics (such as those from Perennials). These elements ensure that the interiors are not only visually appealing but also durable, able to withstand the rigors of everyday family life while retaining their beauty.

Designed for the whole family

Space within space.

The heart of the house is the spacious, open-plan living and dining area with a cozy bay window and a long, handmade wooden table. This space offers plenty of room for friends and family, shared dinners, and moments of togetherness. At the same time, the house is designed to offer each family member their own private retreat. These personalized spaces allow for work, relaxation, and creativity, while the open-plan living areas encourage connection and play.

One of the outstanding features of the house is the seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. The house opens directly onto a beautifully landscaped garden with stunning views of the meadows leading to the nearby forest edge. This natural environment offers endless opportunities for family activities, from quiet afternoons on the terrace to outdoor adventures and games in the surrounding nature.

Untouched nature as far as the eye can see.

More than just a home

Harmony and nature combined.

However, what makes this house truly special is its unique ability to convey warmth and hospitality. From the moment you step inside, the carefully curated rooms exude a harmonious and inviting atmosphere. Each area has been thoughtfully designed to enhance comfort and well-being, making every guest feel at home.

The attention to detail in the interior design, combined with the natural surroundings, creates a home that combines private luxury with simplicity. For Philipp Hoflehner and his family, this house is much more than just a place to live.

It is a place of refuge where they can enjoy the beauty of nature, recharge their batteries, and build lifelong memories.
