From the fireside evening to the book
We wanted to write a book about our work and the way we see things and life. So we retreated to a cabin in the Alps for a weekend. We sat together late into the night, listening to music, enjoying excellent food and good wine, and discussing the one topic that each of us is committed to every day: beauty and our belief that beautiful things are better.
Excerpt from our fireside chat
Because beautiful things are better.
This credo, "because beautiful things are better," may sound arrogant at first glance. Not everyone has the privilege of surrounding themselves with beautiful things. Isn't there also a value judgment involved? What do we mean by "better"? Better for whom? Doesn't everyone judge beauty differently? What do we understand by beauty and what is particularly important to us in this context? How do we interpret beauty in the homes we design for people?
