Designing with nature

The project: House by the lake.

Villa Kronbühl stands impressively on the northern shore of Lake Constance. Its iconic architecture is both surprising and natural, blending seamlessly into the breathtaking natural landscape. With its confident appearance, it closes off the neighborhood to the west and blends harmoniously with the surrounding nature. From every angle, breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding landscape open up.

The targeted inserts, which only provide a subtle glimpse into the hidden spaces, help to make the building appear less tall and dominant than its neighbors. The harmonious transition to the end of the neighborhood is evidence of sensitive planning that respects and integrates the natural environment.

The wooden façade of the almost floating upper section, which serves as the family's private area, not only gives the house a warm aesthetic, but also regulates visibility and creates dynamic shadow effects inside.

The villa thus becomes a living part of the landscape, which is constantly changing and interacting with its surroundings. An architectural masterpiece that goes far beyond the mere function of a house. The interplay of sensory stimuli, interior design, and environmental integration makes Villa Kronbühl a unique place of arrival and well-being.

Interior design

Change of perspective.

The description of the interior of Villa Kronbühl conveys an image of sophisticated aesthetics and carefully selected design that reflects the versatility of the property and its surroundings.

The villa's design language and choice of materials contrast with each other without appearing loud or unsettling. In addition to light-colored exposed concrete, glass, and wood, light-colored stone joins the tactile ensemble of materials.

Natural beige, brown, and gray tones blend with the different colors of the surroundings depending on the season and viewpoint, dominating the sophisticated interior design concept.

As in all rooms, light-colored natural stone and wood dominate the master bathroom, which underscores the natural view to the west and emphasizes the intimacy and privacy of this space in particular.

The entire interior presents itself as a place of diversity, elegance, and personal touch. Each room seems to tell its own story and convey a unique atmosphere, which is due to particularly empathetic and careful interior design planning and a high attention to detail.

Overall, Villa Kronbühl is a place that challenges expectations and offers creative, innovative solutions. This break with convention makes it an outstanding example of contemporary architecture that is not only functional but also tells a story and creates a deep connection to its surroundings and residents.
